Balfour House Arts Centre

Balfour House Arts Centre  is an Artists Run initiative  located at 22 Mary street Cygnet.  Balfour House supports the professional practice of artists by providing work spaces for artists.

Its current tenants are: Claire Byers,  (founding member and manager), Cara Edwards, Graphic Design,  Catherine Shields, garden designer, Melanie Simon, printmaker/recycler /2D and 3D art forms, Jane Foley, textiles, Natalie Weiss, textiles and beauty products and Natasa Melenovic, gold and silver smith.  Operating since 2004 over thirty  artists have benefited from tenancies at Balfour House.

Located in the center of Cygnet in a beautiful heritage building Balfour House is an exciting hub of creativity.  Open days, exhibitions and festival times see hundreds of visitors to the building on a daily basis.

 

Public Access

Balfour House has run workshops in Printmaking, book binding and other craft, design and art related activities for adults and youth.  It has a workshop room which available for hire by members of the public for teaching or printing at affordable rates.

The Hall at Balfour House is also available as an exhibition and or display space.  Many successful  events have been held in the Hall especially events that coincide with Public events in Cygnet such as the  Folk Festival or market Sundays.
